Privacy Policy

Simple Food Track helps you log meals, review AI-generated nutrition estimates for habit tracking, optionally connect Apple Health data on iOS, and manage developer API keys tied to your account. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices you have. We are not a medical provider. AI-generated nutrition is informational only.

What we collect

• Account & auth. Email address, Firebase user ID, and OAuth profile identifiers when you authenticate.
• Meal journal data. Free-text meal notes, photos you upload for analysis, derived nutrition fields, meal slots, local dates, and timestamps.
• Goals & preferences. Calorie targets, macro splits, fiber / water / caffeine goals, and presets you save in Profile.
• Apple Health summaries (optional). When you opt in on iOS after our in-app education screen, we may read daily aggregates (for example active/basal energy and weight if available) and write nutrition samples that mirror meals you already logged. You can revoke access anytime in the Health app or by disabling integration in Simple Food Track.
• API keys. Metadata (label, creation time) and hashed tokens for programmatic access to the same `/v1` API as the apps.
• Diagnostics. Basic device/app version fields or analytics events if you enable vendor analytics (for example Firebase Analytics on web when configured).

How we use data

• Deliver meal logging, macro rollups, analytics, and Apple Health mirroring you request.
• Improve reliability, debug issues, and secure accounts (rate limits, abuse detection).
• Meet legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

AI & third parties

Meal analysis may call model providers (for example OpenRouter-backed models) and optional USDA FoodData Central enrichment when API keys are configured server-side. Those providers act as processors and may process prompts that include your meal text for the limited purpose of returning structured nutrition estimates.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with infrastructure vendors required to run the product (including Google Firebase for authentication, database storage, and hosting). Vendors may only process data to provide services to us and must protect it consistent with this policy and their agreements.

Retention & deletion

We retain data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the iOS app (Profile → Account → Delete account), on the web (Profile → Delete account), or request help via our support page or support@soki-creative.com. Deletion removes your journal data, goals, API keys, and Firebase Authentication profile to the extent technically feasible; we may retain limited records where required for security, taxes, or law enforcement.

Children

Simple Food Track is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
